Stephen Claney, Senior Associate
Stephen Claney's 20-year media career covers senior positions in newspapers, radio and television, positioning him as a leading media communicator in Australia.
Stephen was a senior reporter with Australia's biggest selling daily newspaper the Herald-Sun. He then moved into radio as morning newsreader and reporter with the country's first FM station, becoming EON-FM (Triple-M) news director during that time. His television experience began as a reporter, but during a 10-year career which covered each of the three major commercial networks, Stephen also read news updates, controlled the Chief-of-Staff's desk, and was on-air line up Producer for the major evening news.
Drawing on this unique experience, Stephen established his own training firm and has become recognized as one of Australia's leading trainers. Stephen helps senior executives develop their voice and presence.
Working with WPNT Stephen has helped prepare CEOs and CFOs of major companies ahead of Government Inquiries, Annual General Meetings, Investment Roadshow presentations and Analyst Calls. He has supported Senior Management at four of Australia’s Top 20 companies and rehearsed them for major presentations and media engagements. He has provided presentation and media interview training and rehearsal, including for Fortune 500 companies, in the US, Canada, Asia and Australasia either in person or virtually.
Stephen lives in Melbourne with his family.
